Impact of Sponsorship

1. Build a Child's Self Esteem & Self Respect

By sponsoring a child, you have the incredible opportunity to build their self-esteem and self-respect. These students come from difficult backgrounds and find it hard to believe that someone, that they have never met, cares enough to support their well-being. Self-respect will grow in writing to you about accomplishments and school activities. As their security grows, they gain hope about their futures. With the support of compassionate individuals like you, the students receive respect that they then learn to give to themselves and others, making a ripple effect for generations to come.

2. Helps Students Go on to be Independent

Did you know that sponsoring a child can have a significant impact on their education? Studies have shown that sponsored students are more likely to stay in school up to 1.5 times longer.  This is especially important for our students who come from families with limited access to education.  Unfortunately, prior to coming to our home, education was not prioritized.  The country of Mexico has one of the lowest percentages of adults who finish high school. Your sponsorship can help break this cycle and create a brighter future.*

*In 2018, before the Covid-19 pandemic, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) reported that in Mexico, only 42% of adults aged 25-64 had completed high school. This percentage is significantly lower than the OECD average of 79% and ranks among the lowest rates among OECD countries. Additionally, prior to the pandemic, the average student in Mexico scored 416 in reading literacy, math, and science, which is far below the OECD average of 488. Mexican children consistently obtain the lowest scores in literacy, math, and science skills among OECD partners, with half of them failing to meet the most basic educational standards.

3. Provide Continuity in Giving

Your monthly commitment of $40 is crucial in supporting the Captains of this home and ensuring a stable income for the home. Just like managing a household budget, consistent contributions give them the confidence to plan and provide for the children's needs.

By sponsoring a child, you are making a significant impact on their lives and the activities of this home. Our goal is to have 5 sponsors per child, which amounts to $200 USD per month. This money will be used across all the children in this home. Our expenses are much more, but these funds will go a long way in meeting physical, academic, social, psychological, and spiritual needs of all the students here.

This home currently includes a dedicated team of working professionals. This includes an academic tutor, a Christian psychologist, a Christian social worker, a Christian cook, and two Christian caretakers. Your sponsorship will provide for the continued services of these professionals.
